What’s in a name? Sometimes a lot of meaning. Our wonderful client and partner for the joint-offering wedding stationery, Bernadette Smith, changed the name of her event-planning business last week from It’s About Time to 14 Stories.
This new name has several layers of meaning, as described on their website: www.14stories.com. In Bernadette’s words: “14 is a powerful number in the history of civil rights. It was the number of individual plaintiffs in the case that first legalized gay marriage in Massachusetts. 14 is the U.S. Constitutional Amendment that was used to dismantle segregation and end the ban on interracial marriage.” And of course, every couple has their own special story and 14 Stories helps tell those couples tell their stories. It’s About Time was a very meaningful name when Bernadette started her business, but now it is no longer about time as the time is here!
We love the new name: it is evocative and simple. And since we like to tell visual stories, we are only too happy to work with Bernadette on telling her business story and her client stories.
We designed her new logo and then applied it to existing materials. The goal was to design something crisp, clean, and innovative, but with warmth and personality. We tried many concepts, but settled on something simple that would be versatile and long-lasting. The logo, which is always seen in context with other elements, is a simple mark that can be paired with many different graphic elements. This is important for 14 Stories since there are so many unique stories and applications where this logo will be found. Please check out the logo below, with illustrated lovebirds from some marketing materials, two small advertisements, and the 14 Stories website (which we designed in full and was built by Agency 3).
