Julie Sherman, founder
Julie Sherman brings creativity, energy, and professional design services to her clients. With more than ten years of experience and a strong background in fine arts, Julie has worked on a wide range of projects including website interfaces, print materials, and custom textiles. Julie founded J Sherman Studio in August 2007. She enjoys the flexibility of running her own shop and getting to know her clients well. She strives to work cooperatively and effectively, to listen to her clients, and to respond with beautiful designs. Julie holds a B.F.A. in fine arts from Cornell University and a M.S. in communications management from Simmons College. Julie, who passionately believes in art education, is on the Advisory Council for Step Into Art and works with founder Abby Rischin on visual communications and strategic decisions.
Abigail Evans, designer
Abigail Evans joined J Sherman Studio part time in the summer of 2009. Abi’s professional experience melds her interest in computer technology with the field of education. She is proficient in a wide range of computer programs, particularly intrigued by the interactive applications of technology. Abi’s high tech side is complimented by her passion for hands on creativity – making jewelry, sewing, knitting. Abi holds both a A.B. from Bowdoin College and a Ed.M. from Harvard Graduate School of Education in Technology, Innovation, and Education.
Jennifer Feller, designer
Jennifer Feller joined J Sherman Studio part time in the summer of 2009. Jenny is a skilled and creative designer with a B.F.A. in Illustration from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Her professional experience includes customized events invitations and individual graphic projects varying from logo design to posters, cover illustrations, wine labels and music c.d. covers, effectively merging her artistic and communications skills. When not designing by hand or by computer she can be found experimenting with the wonders of digital photography – or rock climbing.
Kelly Mastracchio, “alumna”
Kelly Mastracchio joined J Sherman Studio in December 2008. Kelly’s primary passion is teaching, and she regularly draws from her background in visual and performing arts to create unique and engaging lessons for her students. She has also worked in design, communications and marketing, and photography. Kelly holds a B.A. in English/Education from Centenary College and a M.Ed. from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Kelly now works in Washington D.C., teaching English to a class of very lucky eighth graders.
